Hon. Dick Malec, Former Arlington Councilmember
You've got to hand it to Marti VanRavenswaay in the way she bamboozled the Star-Telegram into endorsing her. Marti’s whining and "come into my den said the spider to the fly" approach was a brilliant move (albeit underhanded). Her plan to get the Republican vote hasn’t been positive.
The Republicans have learned that everything Marti does is motivated by arrogance, political idolatry and cunning. Case in point — Marti’s aloofness and rude responses to her flagrant absentee record, nepotism and lobbying the state to raise gasoline .10 cents per gallon etc. is appalling, e.g., her poor showing at the polls.
Unfortunately, the Republicans are much too polite to call attention to the fact that this “Empress” not only is without clothes but also Marti is devoid of honesty, integrity, fairness and humility. Let the voting/impeachment proceedings begin for this 20 year incumbent bureaucrat—I’m casting my vote for Andy Nguyen.

Commissioner Marti VanRavenswaay is in her 20th year in office. When first elected, she fairly represented Conservatives. In time, she drifted away from conservative principles and paid more attention to bureaucrats than Republican voters. She became a walking argument for term limits.
Like John Kerry, Marti voted for a 10-cent gasoline tax increase before she flip-flopped and claimed she would vote against it. Even after reversing her position, she boasted in a campaign mailer she had "stood up" for "local voter control" on a boondoggle that would have wasted billions of local tax dollars on a rail system while neglecting the clear need to build more freeways.
Andy Nguyen is a true Conservative who will actually represent the people of Precinct 2. It's time for new blood. Marti must go. Please vote for Andy Nguyen March 13th.

Subject: “Endorsement of Andy Nguyen for County Commissioner Pct. 2”
TO : To the Voters who care about this race,
I have known Andy Nguyen for only a few months during the campaign for county commissioner. During that time I have found that he and I have a lot in common and have a real desire to see change brought to our county. As I have done, Andy started a business from less than a few hundred dollars built it into a large and successful enterprise. I know to be able to do this he must have the same skills that I have and I know that leadership, dependability, initiative, and sensitivity are very important to keep and create a thriving business. And I feel personally that we need business people in government. I also feel very strongly that we must replace elected officials that have been in office longer than 12 years. I have spent my own personal funds and labor forwarding this goal with groups like Blowoutcongress ( www.blowoutcongress.com). Our current commissioner is starting her twentieth year in office. Well that’s too long.
It has been brought to my attention that a personal email or parts of a personal email have been circulated that I said I would not endorse either Andy Nguyen or Marti VanRavenswaay in the upcoming runoff. That email was sent by me to Marti VanRavenswaay after the primary and it was a personal and private email to her. At the time I didn’t feel it necessary to endorse anyone nor did I think either one of the two would have asked for my endorsement. That said Andy Nguyen did come to me on March 8th and asked if I would endorse him I told him that if he thought it would help then I would endorse him. Andy Nguyen is the best candidate for this office and he has my personal endorsement and Vote in the runoff.
I hope this makes it clear that I have endorsed Andy Nguyen in this runoff for Tarrant County Commissioner Pct.2.
